This is a large, versatile griddle that can handle a full pack of bacon, plus bacon, eggs, and pancakes all at once. It’s also great for stir fry, searing steaks, and other camp or home meals. Built from non-toxic carbon steel with a 99.8% iron content, it has a microtexture shot-peen finish that adds durability and helps create that classic cast iron smoothness we all love.
The design is simple and rugged, using an old-school blacksmith wedge joint to hold the legs in place. There are no moving parts or complicated mechanisms to worry about. Each kit includes two extra pins. You can tap the pins in with a camp hatchet for a more rigid setup, or keep things quick and easy for fast assembly.
Cleanup is simple, too. When paired with our hand-made waxed canvas bag, you can cover the griddle with foil or paper towels after cooking and pack it away until you get home. The corners create a great way to drain grease by tilting it, and because it’s compact enough to wash in a sink, it’s easier to clean than a large outdoor gas griddle. Just keep it dry or lightly oiled and it will last a lifetime.
When you’re done cooking, you can move the griddle away from the fire pit, serve directly from it, and keep your camp kitchen simple: just a fire pit, griddle, and fold-flat wind break.
